Mr. Rice's first Section appears framed solely to apply to those Officers who are also connected with the Harbour Master's Department - at Central-Stations.
## Previous Order
"Members of the Police stationed at Wanchai, other than those of the Water Police, on arriving at Victoria on duty, are to report themselves together at the Charge Room on their arrival at this Station.
The Sergeant will convey them to the Inspector on duty.
On their return to their Posts, they will also report to the Inspector, and he will communicate with the Sergeant on duty.
The Sergeant will place an European Officer in charge of the beliefs until the Inspector's return.
It will be the duty of the Charge Room Inspector to make a note of all reports in the Occurrence Book, stating the exact hour of arrival and departure.
The Superintendent is not to leave his Post without previous notice to the Harbour Master or this Department; except in cases of emergency.
Officers in charge of Detachments referred to, are not to leave their Stations without making an entry in the Occurrence Book.
The power of this Order is not to be used away; so that if it happens to be visited before their relief, the cause of their absence can be ascertained.
The exact hour of leaving and returning must - at all times - be stated; both for Officers away from the Village (Wanchai) as well as for all others under their charge.
